Dreaming of Coffee on this Bitter Cold Day...

Yep, the title says it all. Woke up to a FREEZING cold day. As I was layering up, putting on three layers, yes, three shirts, three pairs of pants... well, if leggings are considered pants and three pairs of socks, all I could think of, was all that lucious coffee, just sitting in the studio. All that hard work just sitting there in the cold. But was I about to get out in the bitter cold and go resue a cup? Im no hero, and I'm not about to sacrifice my comfort to save a cup of coffee from the freezer that I'm sure the studio has turned into!! SO, I did the next best thing. I looked through the pictures I took last Saturday, as I was in between appointments. :D

Thought I'd post a few for your viewing delight and share a bit of the journey along the way. :)

Well, there she is!! :D I bought the sideboard from... you're not going to believe it... really, you're not... I mean my sister nearly died when I told her where I picked this little beauty up from.... and if she BARELY believed me, then how will you..... Okay, okay... I found that gorgeous peice of craftsmanship in the Salvation Army, the one right down the road from the studio, for $69.99!!

I KNOW, RIGHT!!!

BUT this was a mission of mercy. It was in a bad place. THIS is more what it looked like when I purchased the poor baby...

It's hard to tell much. I ALWAYS forget to take "before" pictures of my projects. So, I did manage to take several of the process of sanding... stripping... sanding some more and then sealing it, BUT I accidentally erased all the pictures off my Iphone before saving them to my computer. (FACE PALM... more like JAW SLAP) I did manage to save a few that I had sent my honey in a message. This is one of those. See Auggie's feet and tail. :) Where ever mommy goes, he's right there.

Anywho... it looked like someone had left it out in an old storage building or garage. It STANK to high heavens and was absolutely FILTHY. After a good cleaning, I went to sanding, just to test the waters. The top sanded off like a DREAM, but when I got to the body, the sander kept getting gummed up from all the layers of old, nasty brown paint. So I pulled out the ol' stripper. (That sounds a little disturbing!)

Here's a few more of it in my house, soon after the cleaning, repairing and refinishing were complete.

I left plenty of it's old patina goodness!!

It ALMOST didn't make it to the studio! It looked so good there, beneath the stairs. I texted Tim and said, "Oops, I accidentally decorated it! I'm in trouble now!" LOL...

But it did finally make it to the studio, I am pleased to say. Then I spent days and days, miles and miles and hours and hours of shopping, to get everything just as I invisioned it.

Mmmmm... lots of yummy options. From Dark Brew, to Hot Cocoa, to Herbal Tea...

This basket was another Salvation Army find. Isn't it CUTE. Just perfect for tea bags.

Inside... water, cups, more yummies...

The bottom drawer is waiting for my sweetie pie, honey man to have time to repair it, then it will be full of more snacks. :)

This image shows off the sideboard's distressed mirror.

Antique glass LOVE!!

So why the coffee bar, besides the fact that I love me some coffee? I created it for the dad's that come through the studio. Yep! Those poor guys have to sit for HOURS waiting for me and mommy to finish playing dress up with their newest little one. Some will get involved, but most just sit, boardly, (is that even a word?) on the couch, hungry and thirsty.

Of course, it's open to all who enter my little studio, but it was the dad's that brought the need for refreshments during newborn sessions, to my attention.

What's next... a TV, of course. :) Soon, they'll be able to sip on coffee, cocoa and/or tea... or just plain ol' water and watch a movie, chillin' like a villian, until we need them. :)

I hope your day if "filled to the brim" ;) with sunshine, yummy thoughts, and warm fingers and toes.

HUGS... and ciao Bella!
